KENYA CAMPING ITINERARIES
2 NIGHTS / 3 DAYS MAASAI
MARA GAME RESERVE.
Day 1: Depart Nairobi
at 0830hrs after breakfast and drive down the Great Rift Valley with a
short stop at the viewpoint to take photos. Drive further to arrive at
Narok, a small Maasai town, for hot lunch in a restaurant. Drive on after
lunch to arrive at Mara Springs Camp by 1530hrs. Check in and later leave
for an evening game drive from 1600hrs to 1830hrs. Return to the camp
for diner and overnight.

Day 2: Full day in this
spectacular park, which is the famous home for the big five. A full day
drive with packed lunch from the camp starts after breakfast at 0800hrs
until 1700hrs when you get back to the camp for some tea, then dinner
and overnight. A short visit to the Maasai Village is also possible at
an extra cost.
Day 3: Pre-breakfast
game drive before breakfast 0630hrs to 0900hrs. Return to the camp for
late breakfast, leave Maasai Mara after breakfast with a game drive enroute
out of the park. Drive from the western wall of the rift valley to the
floor of the Rift Valley then turn towards Nairobi to arrive by 1730hrs.
2 DAYS: BARINGO AND BOGORIA
Day 1:
Depart Nairobi in the morning for Lake Baringo via Nakuru with a stopover
at the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley. Once at Baringo, check in at
Lake Baringo Country Club for lunch. Afternoon boat trips are available
on this lake to view the many birds that inhabit this lake. This is at
an extra cost. Dinner and overnight at Lake Baringo Country Club. F/B
Day 2: Baringo - Bogoria
- Nairobi
Leave Baringo after breakfast for Lake Bogoria National Park. Lake Bogoria
is a salty lake within the floor of the Great Rift Valley famous for its
natural hot springs and geysers. It has thousands of flamingoes harboring
the lake with animals such as zebras, gazelles, and antelopes. Drive via
Nakuru where you stop for some hot lunch in a restaurant before driving
back to Nairobi to arrive by 1600hrs.

is available on a budget camping option overnight at Mrs. Roberts's Camp.
4 DAYS / 3 NIGHTS MAASAI
MARA / L. NAKURU
Day 1:
Depart Nairobi at 0900hrs after breakfast and drive down the Great Rift
Valley with a short stop at the viewpoint to take photos. Drive further
to arrive at Narok town in time for lunch. Drive on to Maasai Mara in
the afternoon and check in at the Mara Springs Camp. Relax and later enjoy
an afternoon game drive from 1600hrs to 1830hrs. Dinner and overnight
at the Mara Springs Camp.
Day 2:
Full day in this spectacular park which is the famous home for the big
five. Start off shortly after breakfast (0800hrs) and take packed lunch,
a visit to the Mara river to see the hippos and crocodiles. A short visit
to the Maasai Village is also possible at an extra cost. Return to the
camp at 1700hrs for dinner and overnight.
Day 3:
Enjoy fabulous pre-breakfast game drives between 0630hrs and 0900hrs before
returning to the camp for late breakfast. Leave Maasai Mara after breakfast
with a game drive enroute out of the park. Drive from the western wall
of the Rift Valley to the floor of the Rift Valley to arrive at L. Nakuru
in the evening. Check in at a budget hotel where you relax awaiting dinner.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 4:
After an early breakfast, visit the Lake Nakuru Park from 0700hrs. This
is a good time to see the flamingoes as well as the black and white rhinos.
Lake Nakuru is popularly known as the 'pink lake' because the pink flamingoes
blanket the lake and make it pink. There is also lots of other game and
a viewpoint at Baboon cliff. Leave the park at 1200hrs and return to the
hotel for lunch. Drive to Nairobi after lunch to arrive by 1600hrs, drop
off back to your residence.
7 DAYS: MARA/NAKURU / AMBOSELI
Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai
Mara
09:00hrs: Leave Nairobi for Maasai Mara Game Reserve, drive down the Great
Rift Valley and stop to take photos en route. Make a stop-over at Narok,
a small Maasai town, for lunch. On arrival to the Maasai Mara proceed
to the campsite and later enjoy an evening game drive in search of Black
Manned Lions, Elephants, Cheetahs, Leopards, Buffaloes and other plain's
game. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Maasai Mara
This is a full day in this famous home of the big five. You have an option
of going out for a full day game drive with packed lunch or 2 game drives
with a return to the camp for lunch. This is also a good chance to visit
the Maasai village for some cultural entertainment though at an extra
cost. All meals and overnight camp.
Day 3: Maasai Mara
Another full day in the Mara with 2 game drives and an optional nature
walk in between. Early morning game drive starts at 0630hrs before breakfast
and an evening game drive beween 1600hrs and 1830hrs. Dinner and overnight
at the camp.
Day 4: Maasai Mara to Nakuru
Enjoy the last game drive before breakfast (0630hrs to 0900hrs). After
a late breakfast, leave Maasai Mara for Nakuru National Park. Lunch en-route.
For the parks that are near the town we have accommodation in a budget
hotel.
Day 5: Nakuru to Amboseli
After an early breakfast, visit Lake Nakuru National Park from 0700hrs
to 1100hrs. Leave Nakuru via Nairobi with lunch enroute and continue to
Amboseli. Once in Amboseli National park, visit the view point to see
Mt. Kilimanjaro from the background and a short game drive as you drive
to your camp for diner and overnight.
Day 6: Amboseli
Amboseli National Park is a famous home for elephants. A morning game
drive and an evening game drive gives you a chance to see lots of game
as well as other game with a possibility of seeing lions, leopard, hyena
among other animals. Return to the camp in the evening as you marvel the
beauty of Africa with good views of Kilimanjaro at sun set. Dinner and
overnight bush camping.
Day 7: Amboseli to Nairobi
It's advisable to wake up early to take good photos of Kilimanjaro at
sunrise. After breakfast leave Amboseli Park with a game drive enroute,
stop for lunch at Namanga boarder town and get to Nairobi late afternoon.
6 DAYS: MARA /NAKURU/L.BARINGO/L.BOGORIA
Day 1: Nairobi/Maasai Mara
Leave Nairobi by safari bus going south through the Rift Valley. A short
stop at the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley. Picnic lunch will be served
on the way. We will pass Narok to climb the Western Wall entering Hemingway's
"Serengeti Plains". Arrive at the camp; relax before an evening
game drive from 1600hrs to 1830hrs. Dinner and overnight camp.
Day 2: Maasai Mara
This is a full day in the Maasai Mara game reserve, the famous home of
the big five. For those who have the chance to visit between July and
September, they enjoy the spectacular wildebeest migration. You have an
option of 2 game drives or a full day with packed lunch, a great chance
to visit Mara River for hippos and crocodiles. All meals and overnight
camp.
Day 3: Maasai Mara
Another full day in the Mara. Early morning game drive before breakfast
0630hrs to 0930hrs. After a late breakfast, you have some time to relax
or visit Maasai village. An evening game drive 1600hrs to 1830hrs. Dinner
and overnight camp.
Day 4: Maasai Mara/Nakuru
A pre-breakfast game drives (0630hrs to 0900hrs), late breakfast and leave
for Nakuru. A picnic lunch will be served on the way. Lake Nakuru is a
bird's paradise as well as a rhino sanctuary. Besides the birds, Lake
Nakuru also offers a wide variety of small game such as Water Buck, Impala,
Buffalo and Gazelle. Since Lake Nakuru is near the town and there are
no good camping facilities, dinner and overnight will be in a budget hotel.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru/ Lake
Baringo
You will rise up to an early breakfast. Thereafter, you take an extensive
game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park the whole of the morning (0700hrs
to 1200hrs). After a hot lunch in a restaurant, proceed to Lake Baringo.
Enjoy the splendour of a Boat ride as you view birds and hippos that inhabit
this lake. Dinner and overnight at Mrs. Roberts's Camp.
Day 6: Lake Bogoria/ Nairobi
After breakfast, you can go for a nature walk before driving to Lake Bogoria
to see the hot springs. You will enjoy the hot lake and enjoy a game drive
as well. Stop for lunch enroute and drive to Nairobi to arrive in the
evening.
7 DAYS: MAASAI MARA / LAKE
NAKURU / SAMBURU
Day 01: Drive down south
across the western wall of the Rift Valley to Maasai Mara Game Reserve.
Shortly after leaving Nairobi the vast panorama of the Great Rift Valley
unfolds. There are splendid nice viewpoints from which to take photograph.
Stop at Narok for hot lunch in a restaurant. By late afternoon you will
have arrived at the campsite and have 2½ hours game drive. Dinner
and overnight camp.
Day 02: Full day in
the Mara with game viewing. Its home to all the big five (Elephant, Buffalo,
Lion, Leopard, and the Rhino). Besides mammals, over 350 bird species
have been recorded in this game reserve. There are 2 options of game drives
this day. Either one early morning drive before breakfast (0630hrs to
1000hrs) and a late evening drive (1600hrs to 1830hrs) or a full day game
drive with packed lunch. Dinner and overnight at the Camp.
Day 03: Another full
day to explore this world famous game reserve, with morning and afternoon
game drives. There is also an option to either visit the Maasai village
although its on an extra cost or take an evening walk. All meals and overnight
camp.
Day 04: Early morning
game drive before breakfast (0630hrs to 0900hrs). After breakfast depart
for Lake Nakuru National Park with a lunch stop enroute. This lake is
famous for its Flamingos, Pelicans and other water birds. This is a salty
water lake on the floor of the Rift Valley. Its also a rhino sanctuary
so there is almost a hundred percent guarantee to see both black and white
rhinos. There is also a variety of other game such as Waterbuck, Impala,
Gazelle and Buffalo. Dinner and overnight camp or a budget hotel.
Day 05: After breakfast,
depart for Samburu Game Reserve. The drive takes you across the Eastern
wall of the rift valley via Thomson's Falls, the Equator and the base
of Mt. Kenya. You will stop enroute for lunch, continue to Kenya's semi-arid
area, the Samburu National Reserve. Arrive Samburu in time for evening
game drive. Dinner and overnight bush camping.
Day 06: This is a full
day spent in the park. The temperatures in Samburu are on the higher side
and therefore its advisable to have an early morning game drive and another
late evening game drive. You will have a chance to visit the Ewaso Ngiro
River where you have a chance to see crocodiles. The game reserve has
some Unique five which include, Reticulated Giraffe, Gravy's Zebra, Beisa
Oryx, Somali Ostrich, and the long neck Gerenuk Antelope. Other animals
to be found include, Lion, Leopard, Elephant, and Cheetah amongst others.
All meals and overnight at the bush camping site.
Day 07: Early morning
game drive marks the end of the game viewing. Its advisable to do the
drive before breakfast. Return for breakfast at the campsite by 0900hrs.
After breakfast you depart for Nairobi, stop for lunch enroute. Arrive
Nairobi by evening where you are dropped at a place of your choice or
back to the airport.
6 DAYS. MAASAI MARA AND THE LAKES.
Day 1: Nairobi/Maasai Mara
Leave Nairobi by an open roof topped safari van going south through the
Great Rift Valley. A short stop at the viewpoint of the Rift Valley to
take photos. Hot lunch will be served on the way in Narok town in a restaurant.
Drive from Narok to climb the Western Wall entering Hemingway's "Serengeti
Plains". Arrive at the Mara Springs Camp; relax before an evening
game drive from1600hrs to1830hrs. Dinner and overnight camp.
Day 2: Maasai Mara
This is a full day in the Maasai Mara game reserve; this is the famous
home of the Big five. For those who have the chance to visit between July

of camping or staying in a budget hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 04: After an early
breakfast, visit the lake Nakuru National Park from 0700hrs to 1200hrs.

Afternoon spent by the shores of the lake and a boat ride is also available
to see the hippos and water birds found in this lake at an extra cost.
Day 05: After breakfast,
visit the Hell's Gate National Park with your guide, go down to explore
the gorge. There is an option of going by bikes too for those who wish.
You will depart for Amboseli National Park by midday, drive via Nairobi
where you stop for lunch. Later drive down south through the home of the
Maasai people to the Amboseli National Park, a place of stark contrast.
The greatest attractions here are the big herds of Elephants and Mount
Kilimanjaro from the background. Dinner and overnight bush camping.
Day 06: The early morning and
late evening game drives mark the highlights of the second day in Amboseli.
You will not only enjoy the game but also the birds and the scenery. The
early morning drive gives you a chance to see the sunrise and the evening
drive gives you the
Magnificent sundowner. All meals and overnight at the camp.
Day 07: Early morning game
drive before breakfast marks the end of these 7 days bush trip. After
a late breakfast you depart for Nairobi with picnic lunch served enroute
to arrive Nairobi late afternoon where the tour ends.
4 DAYS: AMBOSELI / TSAVO
WEST
Day 01: Drive south
to Amboseli National Park. You will pass through the Athi plains, the
home of the Maasai people. The drive is about 3½ hours to Amboseli
National Park, a place of stark contrast with Kilimanjaro, the highest
Mountain in Africa, from the background.
Camping here is really bush camping so after the evening game drive, we
pitch up the tents and have some campfire as we enjoy our dinner.
Day 02: The early morning
and late evening game drives is a must both for the quality of viewing
and for the atmosphere of the wildest of Africa. There are a lot of herds
of elephants, lions, and leopards among other game. Mount Kilimanjaro
will provide a beautiful backdrop especially when you are having an early
morning game drive for sunrise and a late drive for sun set. All meals
and overnight will be provided at the mobile camp.
Day 03: After an early
morning game drive, 0630hrs to 0900hrs depart for Tsavo West National
Park. Arrive at Tsavo West National Park for lunch. Afternoon game drive
gives you a chance to see the lions, buffalo, cheetah, leopards, and zebras
amongst others. It's also a rhino sanctuary. Take opportunity and visit
the Mzima springs. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.
Day 04: The last game
drive is early morning before breakfast, 0630hrs to 0900hrs. You will
leave the camp after a late breakfast and have a game drive enroute out
of the park and stop enroute have lunch. Arrive Nairobi late afternoon.
